Job Purpose:
As a Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner, you will take on a leadership role within the early years setting. You will support the development and implementation of high-quality early years provision that adheres to regulatory standards and best practices, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children. You will also have responsibility for supervising and mentoring other staff members and apprentices, while engaging with parents and caregivers.

You will support the development and implementation of high-quality early years provision that adheres to regulatory standards and best practices, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children. You will also have responsibility for supervising and mentoring other staff members and apprentices, while engaging with parents and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the early years setting in line with regulatory frameworks (e.g., EYFS, Ofsted).
- Supervise and support early years practitioners and apprentices in their roles, offering guidance and feedback.
- Ensure that the team is providing a stimulating and safe environment for children’s learning and development.
- Lead staff meetings and contribute to the professional development of the team.
- Curriculum and Learning:
- Develop and deliver high-quality early years education based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Observe, assess, and plan for the individual development needs of children in the setting.
- Create and implement exciting, creative activities and resources to stimulate learning and development.
- Safeguarding and Wellbeing:
- Ensure that all children are safeguarded and their wellbeing is promoted.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to the development of policies and practices related to child protection.
- Act as a role model in maintaining a safe and caring environment for both children and staff.
- Collaboration with Parents and Carers:
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers to support children’s development and maintain effective communication.
- Conduct regular parent meetings and update parents on their child’s progress.
- Provide support and advice to parents regarding their child's learning and development.
- Administration and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children’s development and progress.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies regarding documentation and reporting.
- Assist in the completion of reports, assessments, and evaluations of children’s progress.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in training and development opportunities, including the Level 5 qualification process.
- Keep up to date with current legislation, best practices, and developments in early years education.
- Reflect on and evaluate own practice, striving for continuous improvement.
- Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
- Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Early Years qualification as part of the apprenticeship.
