Reporting to the Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Manager the Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for generating ideas/concepts, individually as well as in a team, and then producing 3D and other vital documents for proof of concepts and discussions, as well as final designs and detailing, at the end of development. The role will be located in Huntingdon anmdf offered as onsite.

In This Role, a Typical Day Will Look Like

• Mechanical systems design from concept to final product design
• Detail design of components and assemblies using CAD, (Solidworks) of new product and existing products, (to improve quality and/or reduce cost of manufacturing)
• Conduct and analyse using Engineering theories and simulations to support design
• Prototype and test/analyse own design to verify
• Produce detail drawing specification of components, assemblies and complete Bill of Materials
  
  

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent/related to experience.
• Understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles, and good theoretical knowledge.
• Experience and exposure to Mechanical design using CAD, (preferably Solidworks); also experience in using other Engineering tools and techniques such as FEA, DFMEA.
• Has worked in Engineering field designing and developing mechanical systems including basic hands-on experience.
• Understanding and experience in design for manufacturing – design for injection moulding, fabrication etc
