The Role

Registered Nurse responsible for the application of the Framework of the Nursing Process to deliver high standards of client / patient nursing care for patients with a range of mental disorders, substance misuse, learning disability or co-morbidity, under the clinical supervision of the caseload holder / charge nurse / team leader, senior charge nurse or practitioner. The registered nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal and clinical supervision of students and clinical / healthcare support workers in provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service, under the management and leadership of the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner

What we'll need you to bring

Registered Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurse with valid NMC Registration

The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative

Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Excellent time management skills

Working knowledge of basic information technology

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

Educated to, working towards, operating at diploma level

Evidence of willingness to commit to continuous professional development including completion of Flying Start development programme within 1st year of qualification

Practice experience working in mental health or learning disability nursing at registered nurse level

Knowledge of evidence based interventions in the nursing care and treatment of people with mental illness or learning disability

Knowledge of current national legislation, national and local policy relevant to mental health and learning disability nursing practice

22.5 hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in University Hospital Wishaw.

The working pattern for this role Mon - Sun (pro rata)
