Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Controls Engineer to join us at Honeywell, where you will be responsible for producing innovative, high quality software products for UK’s leading defence developments.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

  • Working to recognised industry standards to produce innovative, high quality software products for UK’s leading defence developments
  • Working within a multi-disciplined team, utilising a variety of tools and programming languages, engaging in all aspects of the software development cycle
  • Taking responsibility for your own and others work as well as providing technical assistance to support the development of junior members of the team
  • Leading during assurance and review activities ensuring that all required configuration, release and documentation activities have been produced in accordance with the relevant standards
  • Translate requirements into software designs, implement and test solutions, and manage integration, configuration, release, and deployment of the product

Qualifications

Key skills and qualifications

  • Degree in Software Engineering Instrumentation and/or Control Engineering, or related subject, or an equivalent qualification and experience.
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, traditional PLC programming
  • Experience or knowledge in SCADA systems
  • Large distributed systems experience desirable
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and environments
