Job Overview

Salary: Grade 3 A - E £14,334-£14,937 (£24,405-£25,432)

25 hours per week, 8.30 am to 2.00 pm Monday to Friday

The Role

  • To prepare specialist equipment and resources primarily for technology lessons, with some additional Art support.
  • To provide general and practical support in D&T lessons, supporting all students with a relevant and effective experience.
  • To ensure the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment for staff and students.
  • Build good working relationships with students and colleagues which are based on mutual respect.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within lessons and within the school community.

Main Responsibilities And Tasks

  • Provide technical advice and support to the class teacher as required.
  • To assist in practical classes supporting small groups.
  • To contribute to the design, development and maintenance of specialist resources and long term projects.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that cover work, set by teaching staff, is placed in rooms and that this is then collected, to be given to staff on their return. To ensure that subsequent requisitions are altered to take into account cover situations.
  • To be able to safely use and dispose of materials and be responsible for COSH across the non Food areas.
  • To assist in the ordering, safe storage and accessibility of equipment and materials.
  • Keep up to date records of stock.
  • Under appropriate guidance ensure that routine and non-routine checking, cleaning and maintenance, testing or repairing of equipment is carried out.
  • Keep up to date with current procedures and practice through continuing professional development.
  • To assist with corridor and classroom display board upkeep.
  • Fully implement and comply with all relevant policies.
  • Other duties commensurate with the level of the post as required.
