Your Expertise. Our Standards. Outstanding Service.

Ready to see your HR expertise actually make a difference? We're in year two of rebuilding how we deliver homes and services through five strategic objectives - and you'll be instrumental in delivering Purposeful Culture through excellence in HR service delivery, with leadership commitment, dedicated resources, and a mandate for meaningful change.

As a profit-for-purpose organisation, we don't compete on private sector salaries. What we offer instead is the opportunity to design and deliver HR services that create lasting impact, in an organisation that measures success by homes improved and communities strengthened.

This is your chance to develop your expertise across the full HR spectrum while helping shape how a leading organisation creates exceptional colleague experiences during genuine transformation. Imagine how that will look on your CV.

What you'll be doing

As part of our newly formed HR & OD shared service team, you'll enable effective people management across the organisation while continuously improving our processes to deliver outstanding colleague experiences.

  • Providing consistent, high-quality HR advice across the organisation, coaching line managers to handle people matters with confidence and skill
  • Managing standard employee relations cases (absence, disciplinary, performance, grievances) using technology and best practice to streamline processes and improve outcomes
  • Supporting recruitment activities and designing effective roles that align with our organisational principles and future needs
  • Contributing to employee engagement initiatives, using Best Companies insights to encourage improvements that create world-class engagement
  • Supporting development of our HR technologies and workflows
  • Managing colleague lifecycle processes (onboarding, payroll, flexible working, exits) with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Identifying trends and implementing process improvements that enhance service delivery and colleague experience
  • Supporting policy reviews and updates to ensure compliance while encouraging practical, business-focused solutions
  • Using people data and insights to provide proactive support and encourage continuous service enhancement

What you'll get in return

Beyond your salary and the opportunity to transform how we work, you'll get:

  • 26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 days after 3 years
  • Your birthday off as an extra holiday
  • Up to 10% matched pension contribution
  • Hybrid working (4 days office, 1 day home) - essential for understanding business needs and building relationships
  • Flexible benefits which might include a Health Cash Plan
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for your wellbeing

More about you

We're looking for an HR professional who's ready to move beyond transactional support to building genuine partnerships with line managers and colleagues. You're motivated by creating excellent service experiences using HR technologies and want to work where your HR expertise can encourage continuous improvement and real business impact.

Essential:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent professional HR qualification
  • Experience providing consistent HR advice to managers at various levels with proven ability to coach and develop their capabilities
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices, with experience managing standard employee relations cases
  • Demonstrable understanding of employee lifecycle processes and ability to use HR systems to streamline workflows
  • Advanced experience of using HR and Recruitment Systems, experience of I-Trent would be an advantage
  • Commercial understanding with data-focused mindset and ability to identify trends and implement process improvements
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with genuine commitment to excellent customer service
