Mission:
As a Lead Consultant – Smart Mobility, you will work with a team of smart, inquisitive people who enjoy applying their technical knowledge to problems that our clients face. The position is hybrid and will require onsite visits to client sites.
The team has a deep technical foundation that allows us to analyze problems to find the root cause, review test scripts to ensure edge cases are covered, and offer solutions that solve the problems in a way that align with our clients’ objectives.
While your main focus will be our Transit clients, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills and experience to payment, digital identity and other types of mobility projects. These will include:
- Payments for the 21st Century, including EMV, open-banking, crypto-currencies, remote and alternative payment solutions
- Account-based systems to improve transit services, Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and Mobility-on-Demand (MoD) solutions
- Digital Identity and rebuilding trust on the Internet.
ACTIVITIES
- Leading workshops with transit agency staff to educate them on the latest strategies and technologies in Fare Collection Systems
- Draft requirements that serve the transit agency’s business and customer needs for the procurement of a new Fare Collection System
- Review test scripts to ensure all edge cases are covered, and analyze the testing results to ensure root causes are found
- Lead onsite testing of the latest Open Loop and/or Closed Loop payment system for transit agencies
- Lead team meetings with System Integrators, third-party suppliers and Transit Agency staff
- Develop reports that can speak to the engineers at a System Integrator and presentations that effectively communicate project progress and risks to Transit Agency executives
- Spend time working on projects that focus on what our clients are going to need tomorrow, but don’t know it yet
JOB EXPERIENCE
Essential
- At least 5 years of experience within fare collection/transit
- Understanding of the concepts and practical experience of payments, fare collection and/or identity technology
Desirable
- Proven track record in leading large technical projects with experience interacting with development teams and executives
- Deep experience in formal testing processes
- A good understanding of the difference between data and information
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present documentation and influence decision making
- Strong analytical skills with a structured problem-solving approach
