Serco have an exciting opportunity within our Marine division for a Transition Programme Management Officer to join our team based at HMNB Portsmouth on a hybrid basis. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of workstreams within the DMS-NG programme. Our Transition Programme Management Officer will ensure effective monitoring, reporting, and maintenance of PMO processes and governance standards, contributing to the overall success of the programme. This position is essential for maintaining consistent PMO practices, supporting Project Managers and PMO Lead, and ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of project activities. The role will also provide critical support in documentation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.

Main Accountabilities:
Project Support and Coordination:
- Assist Project Managers with the development and maintenance of project plans and schedules.
- Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely updates and reporting.
- Support the integration of workstream plans into the overall programme plan.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RAID logs, action logs, and status reports.
- Ensure all project documents are up-to-date and stored in the appropriate locations.
- Support the preparation of reports and presentations for Programme Board and Steering Committees.
- Assist in identifying project risks and issues, ensuring they are logged, tracked, and updated.
- Support the development of mitigation plans and escalate significant risks to the PMO Lead.
- Support effective communication between the PMO, Project Managers, and stakeholders.
- Assist with organising and facilitating project meetings and workshops.
- Document meeting minutes, actions, and decisions, ensuring follow-up and tracking.
- Act as a central point of contact for programme-related queries, ensuring consistent and transparent communication with stakeholders.
- Support stakeholder engagement efforts, facilitating workshops, meetings, and presentations to communicate programme progress.
- Ensure adherence to PMO processes and standards across all workstreams.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support the implementation of best practices.
- Provide general administrative support to the PMO team, including scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars.
- Assist with the management of project-related correspondence and documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to other PMO members.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing across the PMO team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Good knowledge of project planning tools such as Microsoft Project.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Desirable: Experience with RAID logs and risk management practices.
- Desirable: Experience in a PMO or project support role within a complex programme environment Quick learner
