Location: Wolverhampton – Hybrid, with weekly travel to offices ( Northampton)

Job Length: 18 Months FTC – Full Time

Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.

About the role:

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can support tax reporting and financial control and is keen to grow with the tax team to help shape efficient, future-ready tax processes. You’ll be part of a collaborative team with the opportunity to work with key stakeholders across functions and contribute to the success of some of the UK’s most loved drinks brands.

If you are interested in joining our journey, we are now recruiting for a Tax Specialist. Reporting to the Tax Manager. this role will play a key part of our succuss journey and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following:

Role Responsibilities:

  • Drive the monthly reporting and reconciliation process including accurate and timely delivery of balance sheet and tax reconciliations (VAT and Excise Duty).
  • Deliver the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) and Taxed Award Scheme returns.
  • Support Carlsberg Britvic’s sustainability goals by delivering the Plastics Packaging Tax return and Packaging Waste reports.
  • Support Carlsberg Britvic’s efficiency by delivering Excise Duty Drawback, rejected documents, and scrapping reports.
  • Assist with Excise Duty due diligence requirements by completing the Excise Duty Suspended report and Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme supplier checks.
  • Assist with the accuracy of Excise Duty returns by performing reconciliation of duty against the deferment account.
  • Support Tax Manager with any ad-hoc tax requirements and any Financial Control engagements as required.

Experience and Key Attributes:

  • Excellent understanding of financial processes and ability to drive change to processes and improve the ways of doing things.
  • Ability to build good relationships, influence and communicate at all levels of the business.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders including HMRC, auditors, and advisors.
  • A self-starter able to work under own initiative and can effectively prioritise competing activities and deliver to the required quality of outcome.
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to convey complex financial data in a simple and compelling manner.
  • Sound judgement and an ability to get to the route of an issue and make sound financial decisions
  • Knowledge of SAP / BI / Power BI and HFM desirable.
