Your role of Licensing Manager sits within our friendly and creative Licensing department.

What to expect on a day to day basis:

  • Manage: Owner of Department & stakeholder meetings, e.g., Quarterly Reviews: responsible for creating the deck and co-presenting. Ensuring Critical Path is clear to whole business and followed with relevant meetings & attendees to ensure timely process & delivery
  • Strategy: Setting the new business strategies for the Licensing Department, alongside the Head of Partnerships
  • Budget/Revenue Accountability: Financial lead – owner of the department's budget & forecasting. Overseeing Merchandising team with reporting & tracking performance to ensure relevant action taken.
  • Product & Category Expert: Competitor analysis & awareness of market trends.
  • New Business: Identifying potential partners to deliver credible and relevant new business with tangible growth opportunity
  • Contracts: Supporting BDM with negotiating new & renewal licensing deals with Licensees & Licensors, aligned with strategy.
  • Cross-functional Activities: Working with other functions and building strong relationships internally.
  • Distribution Strategy: Targeting new business with Wholesale/Partnerships Team.
  • Management & leadership of a broad team (including Account Management & Department Designer) of vibrant and driven colleagues.
  • Cross collaborative working with opportunity to deputise for Head of Partnerships in their absence.

From a technical and operational perspective, it would also be advantageous if you have:

  • Minimum 5 years in a mid/senior Licensing role.
  • Account Management experience, essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Licensing process - Licensing agreements, deal negotiation, critical path management.
  • Strong commercial acumen and market awareness.
  • Ability to show initiative & leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to detail & accuracy.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal).
  • Personal drive, motivation, and resilience.
  • Willingness to step out of your comfort zone.
  • Being resourceful and adaptable are essential.
  • Knowledge of the Google Suite would be desirable.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage priorities.
  • Good planning, organisation and problem solving skills
  • Experience in managing a team is essential - Capable of coaching and developing others.

Where will you be working?

This is a full time, on-site role based at ‘The Barn’ - Joules’ purpose built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.
