Storage & Backup Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Backup & Recovery Engineer to join our global financial services client. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the operational stability, supportability, and resilience of their enterprise-wide backup and recovery environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the stability, performance, and supportability of global backup and recovery platforms through routine operational checks and adherence to data retention and lifecycle policies.
• Oversee product lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, decommissioning, and capacity planning to support long-term infrastructure investment.
• Design, test, and improve monitoring, alerting, and automation for backup environments; ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Manage backup configuration, including onboarding/decommissioning servers, setting policies, and conducting Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT).
• Deliver projects within scope, schedule, and budget, aligned with IT and business objectives.
  
  
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• Deep expertise in Backup & Recovery technologies, especially:

• Veeam Backup & Replication
• IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM)
• Strong knowledge of enterprise backup architecture, installation/configuration of backup tools, and troubleshooting performance or stability issues.
• Proven experience supporting large-scale backup environments (Veeam or TSM).
• Proficiency in at least one enterprise OS (e.g., Windows, Linux, AIX) and in creating technical documentation and best practice processes.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
