Cambridge Regional College are currently looking for a dynamic teacher to work for our Access to HE team at our Cambridge campus. You will join us on a part time basis (9.5 hours) and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £28,385 - £41,782 per annum pro rata per annum (actual salary of £7,288 - £10,727 per annum).

About the role:
You will be responsible for the delivery of the Human Biology units within Access to HE (Health Professions) (A level equivalent).
- There will be 4 hours human biology delivery for our Health Professions day course. These units include Cell Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Biochemistry, Homeostasis and Cardiovascular and Respiratory systems.
- The equivalent course will also be offered as a part time evening. This will involve delivery of the units on a rota system (i.e. not every Tuesday evening) and approximately 6 Sats per year. There is the opportunity to develop the units for an online delivery model if appropriate.
- In addition, there will be one further unit ‘Professional Behaviours in a healthcare setting’. This is 3 hours per week for 8 weeks only (Sept-Oct). This is to support students who intend to embark on a healthcare career; the assessment is a portfolio of evidence.
You will need to prepare all lessons and keep the college’s Moodle pages (VLE) / MS Teams up to date to support learning. As part of the role, you will also be required to assess work electronically (through MS Teams), internally moderate students’ work and participate in External verifier meetings. You will need to follow Quality Assurance processes both within the college and as part of the awarding bodies’ requirements.
What we are looking for in our role:
Educated to degree level in biology or a related biological science, and preferably with a teacher trainer qualification, you are an inspirational teacher who makes full use of active learning strategies. You have an excellent awareness of health and safety within a practical setting and can confidently plan and supervise appropriate practicals as part of your teaching strategy. You have the ability to support the development of transferable study skills in preparation for either HE or employment. You will need to discuss student issues with other team members and work collaboratively to ensure excellent retention and success. You will have a willingness to share good practice and collaborate with the Access to HE teams with a good sense of humour and enthusiasm to enhance the student experience. To ensure excellent recruitment onto the pathways, you may also be required to participate in relevant Interview (Welcome) events, Open Days and taster days with other team members.
