The role of a LC member is largely a thinking and questioning role. No specific prior knowledge is required. Training and support are available for new and existing members and is free of charge.
What difference will you make?
You will have the opportunity to positively impact the educational outcomes of hundreds of school children.
What are we looking for?
The Trust would welcome applications from those with strong professional and leadership skills including, but not limited to Educational system leadership Recent school leadership/improvement experience in maintained schools SEN practitioner experience Finance Change management leadership Applicants do not need to be Christian but do need to be able to fully support the Trust’s Christian ethos, mission and values. The Board would particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups including those based on ethnicity, age or gender.
What will you be doing?
Time commitment Local Committees usually meets around 6 times a year. In addition, Local Committee members are expected to visit the school on a periodic basis. The role is not remunerated; however reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. Local Committee members are expected to take up induction and on-going training opportunities to enable them to fulfil their role effectively. Term of appointment A term of office for a local committee member is four years and a local committee member may serve two terms (8 years).
