The People's Theatre Company

City: Guildford, England
Contract type: Full time
Remote

We tour original, interactive family theatre to young audiences across the UK & provide free educational & career development resources. We rely on funding to support our beneficiaries. Can you help us get it?
What difference will you make?
Our ability to provide our services free or accessibly is entirely reliant on funding. We cannot stress enough the importance of this role and the difference a good fundraising strategy and bid writing ability would have. Our work makes a huge difference to people lives, from entertaining families across the UK to doing outreach with minority groups and providing career development programs for young aspiring artists and those identified as NEET. None of it is possible without support so in (almost) the legendary words of Gerry Maguire - please "help us help them!"
What are we looking for?
The ideal person will be bright, focused and have a good understanding of what funding bodies are looking for. The ability to write clearly and concisely but also convincingly is imperative as is good organisation and punctuality because funding applications often come with deadlines. It would be great if the person had good social skills and an independent drive in order to seek out and build legacy relationships with individual givers as well as organisations but this is not as important as diligence and commitment.
What will you be doing?
We would love to find a highly literate and motivated person with interests in children, families and or theatre to help us explore funding opportunities, network with like minded people and write funding bids for our education, outreach and creative programs. A minimum of 3 years experience in either bid writing or fundraising strategy is required. The ideal candidate will be able to work from home, our office or a mixture of both, whichever is most convenient and will liaise with our Artistic Director on suitable funding targets as well as identify some independently.
