Content Producer
The Mare and Foal Sanctuary

Salary Grade F with a starting salary of £31,020 per annum
This is a hybrid role, working at Sanctuary sites and sometimes from home if desired, with a nominated base at Olympus Business Park in Newton Abbot.
The core hours are 37.5 per week, with some flexibility. Regular travel to sites in the Southwest to cover stories will be required. The ideal candidate will need to be based locally or be prepared to live in Devon throughout the working week.
As Content Producer, you’ll raise awareness of our vital work by crafting compelling narratives and engaging content to maximise the reach and impact of our stories and campaigns.
What you’ll be doing:
Producing Creative Content
You’ll be part of a skilled, professional team, crafting impactful stories and proactively finding opportunities to produce powerful content. You’ll collaborate across departments to share our latest news through detailed research, interviews and visually engaging content. Your role will involve crafting multimedia case studies to provide an insight into the lives of our rescued horses and the remarkable individuals and groups we work with. You’ll be writing core content that can be transformed into website articles, social media posts, case studies, newsletters and fundraising campaign content. You’ll produce professional in-house films and images, while also overseeing external commissions.
Organising and Optimising
As part of the Content team, you'll manage and organise our digital storytelling assets, ensuring files are accessible to staff. With a sharp eye for detail, you'll handle media consent forms and ensure that our stories respect the people at their heart. You'll help shape our charity’s distinctive brand and tone of voice and evaluate the impact of our stories and campaigns. Using your journalistic skills, you'll craft tailored content to communicate key messages effectively across media and public platforms.
What you’ll bring:
- Exceptional copywriting skills and the ability to adapt your style across media platforms, channels and diverse audiences.
- You’re a skilled multimedia storyteller who can engage audiences with compelling narratives.
- Skilled in video journalism, you will also have a knowledge of post-production, including linear editing.
- You have an eye for detail and experience in proofreading and editing the work of others.
- You’re familiar with digital trends, SEO, and social media.
- You manage priorities and deliver results quickly.
- You have strong IT skills and experience of using creative software and equipment.
- You excel in teamwork and foster positive relationships with colleagues with cultural awareness, empathy, and diplomacy.
- You enjoy learning new skills from others and sharing your own knowledge and skills to strengthen the team.
- Graphic design skills would be valued, as would experience of drone filming.
- A relevant qualification in media, journalism or communications, backed by a minimum of two years’ professional experience.
- You have a valid driver’s licence, your own transport, and be open to travelling to various locations regularly.
