We are open to base location for this role with offices in either Exeter, Bristol or Swindon.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the delivery of the technical function of the design and pre-construction, providing professional engineering input to the team / client through to delivery of the project technical assurance.
  • Act as information manager with Network Rail ProjectWise common data environment
  • Undertake the Role of Project Engineer as defined by NR standard NR-L2-INI-02009
  • Lead pre construction development of schemes in accordance with the requirements of the construction design and management regulations
  • Lead procurement of subcontract packages in accordance with corporate standards.
  • Manage client requirements advising on all technical engineering matters.
  • Provide professional and technical innovation, advice and support to the operation team to assist with the safe and effective delivery of activities.
  • Evaluate and approve the technical content of business processes.
  • Carry out and report Site Safety / Quality Tours
  • Responsible for procuring and delivering all GI / SI requirements for the project.
  • Deliver various monthly progress reports, both internal and external.

Who we're looking for

The Following Skills And Experience Are Essential

  • Multi-disciplinary technical background, preferably with significant rail experience.
  • Working knowledge of NR ‘Engineering Management for Projects’ NR/L2/INI/02009
  • Thorough knowledge of railway engineering and operations routines
  • Understanding of delivering technical assurance on rail projects
  • Knowledge and experience of systems auditing requirements
  • Knowledge of statutory railway requirements
  • CDM training desirable
  • Incorporated Engineer desirable.
  • Previous PE experience would be useful.
