Overview:

We are seeking a Packaged Equipment Engineer to support an Aberdeen-based engineering project, with opportunities available on both a contract and staff basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical engineer with strong experience delivering pressure systems and static equipment packages — particularly in brownfield or offshore project environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the specification, design, and delivery of packaged and static equipment such as pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, and ancillary systems
  • Develop and review work packs, technical documentation, and engineering deliverables to meet client and project specifications
  • Ensure all equipment complies with relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME VIII, PED)
  • Manage vendor and fabricator interfaces from design through to final installation
  • Liaise with procurement, project engineering, and construction teams to meet project milestones
  • Support risk assessments, QA/QC reviews, and ensure engineering integrity across all phases
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and support package team development
  • Attend client meetings, conduct vendor inspections, and perform site surveys when required

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
  • Hands-on experience delivering static equipment packages in oil & gas or heavy industrial projects
  • Strong working knowledge of ASME VIII, welding standards, and fabrication codes
  • Proven capability to manage work packs and full package lifecycle from design to installation
  • Demonstrated leadership or team coordination experience
  • Previous work in EPC, consultancy, or brownfield/offshore project delivery is highly desirable

Why Apply?

  • Flexibility to join on a contract or permanent basis
  • Involvement in a critical engineering project with tangible site impact
  • Overtime available for contract staff
  • Hybrid working considered based on project needs
  • Career progression and leadership opportunities available
