This is a shift based role including days and nights attracting a shift rate of £7,875


We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Crew Controller to join our dynamic Operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and compliant execution of the Voyager Force and AirTanker Services (ATrS) flying programme. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all Military and Civilian crew rosters (including engineers) within a 5-day operational window, ensuring adherence to CAA Flight Time Limitations and internal crew protocols.


This is a fast-paced, decision-making role that requires excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills to manage real-time changes and disruptions while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities


  • Maintain and update crew rosters for a rolling 5-day period, ensuring timely communication of itineraries and report times to crew.
  • Respond to operational changes including delays, disruptions, and crew availability, while considering fatigue and applying Fatigue Risk Management (FRM) principles.
  • Liaise with Crew Scheduling, Crew Training Planning, Squadron, and civilian crew management teams to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Manage third-party contractual and ad hoc charter requirements, ensuring compliance and effective communication with Sales and customers.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all crewing-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervise and support the Crew Duty Officer, including coordination of crew HOTAC and travel arrangements.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records, including error logs, training reports, and comprehensive handovers.
  • Promote and uphold the standards of the ATrS Safety Management System (SMS), Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


  • Experience in a crewing or operational control environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong IT skills, ideally with experience using crewing software (e.g., AIMS).
  • Familiarity with CAA Flight Time Limitations and FRM principles is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to changing needs.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confident decision-maker, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in English (written, verbal, and reading).
