What are we looking for?
Key Responsibilities Oversee the financial management of Lichfield Arts, ensuring proper records and procedures are in place. Prepare and present regular financial reports to the Board of Trustees. Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to ensure financial stability. Ensure compliance with charity financial regulations and reporting requirements. Oversee bookkeeping, including income and expenditure tracking. Support funding applications and grant management by providing financial insights. Liaise with accountants and auditors for annual financial statements. Provide guidance on financial risk management and control. Skills & Experience Required Essential Experience in financial management, bookkeeping, or accountancy. Understanding of charity finance regulations and compliance. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero) and Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial trustees. High level of integrity and commitment to transparency. Desirable Experience in a charity or non-profit organisation. Previous experience on a board. Personal Qualities Passion for supporting arts and culture in the local community. Proactive and well-organised approach to financial management. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Willingness to contribute time and expertise to a charitable cause. Time Commitment Our Board meets monthly for approximately two hours (currently 7-9pm), with an annual AGM and occasional extraordinary meetings. As Treasurer, you may also be asked to represent the organisation at external events or support the trustee team in making financial decisions on urgent matters that require Board authorisation but cannot wait until the next scheduled meeting. The role would require approximately two days a month on average, with much of the work capable of being undertaken outside of normal office hours if/as required.
