Global Accounts Payable Clerk – Deeside
Salamander is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join their dynamic and expanding business in the oil and gas sector. With ambitious growth plans, this UK-based role is part of a global finance team and will play a key role in the day-to-day management of our worldwide Accounts Payable function, while also supporting broader finance operations across the organization.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process purchase invoices as per internal controls.
- Process employee expenses.
- Prepare and process supplier payment runs in line with payment terms.
- Reconcile supplier statements, liaise with internal business units to resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Perform basic monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
- Other purchase ledger and cash management support as needed.
- Prepare VAT data downloads for quarterly returns.
- Identify and recommend effective process efficiencies.
- Support Annual Audit and adhere to financial standards.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles and current financial legislation.
- Perform other duties and ad hoc projects to support the wider Finance and organisations business unit's teams as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):
- AAT or in the initial stages of pursuing is desirable.
- Significant experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of the Accounts Payable function.
- Confident both numerically and grammatically to deal with complex scenarios and formal. correspondence, communicating globally at managerial/directorial level.
- Must be proficient with MS Office applications with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Dynamics 365 Accounting software (plus).
- Medius Software (plus).
- ERP implementation support experience (plus).
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and changeable work environment.
- Effectively able to maintain discretion and confidentiality of vendor, employee and customer information as appropriate.
