As part of our continued expansion across Europe, Samsung Networks is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated Procurement Manager to oversee Procurement activities related to its operations in Europe. You will manage and oversee the Product and Service procurement activities ensuring Samsung receive competitive pricing and terms that enable it to be cost competitive in the market.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who can demonstrate a consistent track record in Procurement in the IT and Telecommunications industries and has extensive experience in bringing value!
This role will be based in UK but will require travel to other EU locations.
Role And Responsibilities
You will be responsible for local/regional sourcing of products and services identified within Samsung Networks as part of our strategic goals or commercial opportunities
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Essential Hard Skills:
MS Office Suite (Competent User) Excel, Word & PowerPoint (High Competence) Experience in procurement management in telecom networks or IT sector Fluent in spoken and written English Numerate with good report writing skills Availability for business travel
Essential Soft Skills:
Negotiation, commercial and influencing skills A high level of presentation, communication and planning skills Existing contacts within subcontractors, IT vendors, etc. in Europe Ability to run procurement processes end-to-end with high standards and within tight timescales Enthusiastic and positive attitude and a proven teammate Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision in a multi-disciplinary virtual environment
Desirable Hard/Soft Skills:
Experience in network or IT procurement Good competence in 4G and 5G technologies and solutions as well as vRAN and virtualisation Good appreciation of operational and financial issues and risk assessment Creative, innovative approach to overcome hurdles and propose solutions and alternatives The ability to work independently and know when to use the expertise of others

Role And Responsibilities
You will be responsible for local/regional sourcing of products and services identified within Samsung Networks as part of our strategic goals or commercial opportunities
- Engaging with and handling our partner organisations including all subcontractors who will support Samsung in excelling in the delivery and in-life support of our networks
- You will build and maintain excellent relationships from the outset throughout the supplier organisations up to CxO level thereby leading to a highly engaged and satisfied suppliers that maximises the chances of further opportunities & growth
- You will monitor supplier performance and create frameworks that enable Samsung Networks to assess their performance and implement development plans should need arise
- You will be responsible for contracting and negotiating Terms and Conditions ensuring alignment with SNE’s Service, Solution and Contract Management teams
- Assess service and product strategy outputs and ensure procurement strategy is aligned
- Develop and handle supplier relationships
- Create and maintain instructions and documentation processes in your own responsibility area
- You will provide support to the Head of Commercial and Procurement in common areas like contract management. You will also provide support on the alignment of necessary flow downs from customer contracts to applicable supplier contracts across service and products related to the business

What does success look like?

- Supplier base management and supplier performance; i.e. Management of contracting and pricing in responsibility area, including the negotiations and legal involvement, contract finalisation, management summary and contract record
- Management of supplier selection process in the responsibility area
- Ensuring that activities meet all relevant regulations, legal requirements and Samsung’s policies
- Handle Suppliers: regular supplier reviews, supplier statistics, quality tasks, risk assessments
- Market information and analysis
- Has good market information, analytical skills and supply market knowledge, good insights of local European markets
- Ensures alignment and anticipates changes and drives activities based on supply market changes
- Cost Management
- Acts as business enabler and driver for efficient costs, including definition/implementation of cost management measures and methodologies for improvement
- Support TCO to drive the procurement process
- Follow up and report of spends and savings
- Ensure involvement in procurement-related decisions of the key partners
- Full accountability for successful procurement delivery including all RFx activities
- Responsible for development and management of all process/procedures associated with the delivery of the procurement function
- Provide regular internal reporting to all team members including progress, risks, issues & milestone adherence during procurement process
- Handle the Samsung approved subcontractor(s)suppliers ensuring that they deliver according to the agreed contractual commitments and to the highest of standards
