About You

You will be approachable, organised, and committed to supporting young people to achieve their goals. We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Level 4 qualification in Advice & Guidance (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with young people, preferably in education, youth, or community settings.
  • Confidence in engaging employers and coordinating work placements.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding, inclusivity, and the challenges young people may face.
  • Good digital and organisational skills, with experience using CRM or learner management systems such as APTEM.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and people-focused individual to join our team as Learner Recruitment & IAG Coordinator, supporting young people across the West Bromwich and Coventry.

You will support learners journey from recruitment through to progression, working closely with referral partners, schools, employers, and internal teams. The role includes:

  • Recruiting learners and delivering onboarding and induction activities.
  • Coordinating tailored work placements with local employers.
  • Providing one-to-one mentoring, advice, and guidance.
  • Supporting learners facing personal or educational barriers.
  • Ensuring accurate records and compliance with safeguarding and funding requirements.

Safeguarding responsibilities: This role will involve daily contact with learners, and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. All staff have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, and/or vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. The Charity’s Safeguarding Policy is available from Central YMCA website.
