Due to a recent promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Rent Payment Officer to join our Income Team. You'll help deliver a proactive and customer focused service, ensuring that rent and service charges are recovered in a timely and efficient manner.
This role will be covering a region across Midland Heart stock and will require regular travel across Birmingham - this is required as a minimum once per week where you will be visiting numerous Tenant properties across the region. The successful candidate will also need to be able to travel across the Midland Heart geography (East and West Midlands) regularly and at short notice.
As a Rent Payment Officer, you will:
Pro-actively contact customers using a variety of contact methods in order to negotiate affordable repayment agreements, paying particular attention to personal circumstances and level of income.
Visit customers in their home to provide rent related support and advice.
Represent Midland Heart in Country Court possession proceedings.
Conduct property viewings and sign up new tenancies.
Update and maintain computer records of recovery action taken on internal systems (Northgate), including payment arrangement information and payment methods.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Experience of providing support and advice to customers around sustaining their tenancy.
Experience of working in an income collection/advisory role in Housing.
Customer services experience including face to face, over the phone and via email.
Knowledge of the welfare and benefits system.
