Loop Your Spare (LYS) is a smart, easy-to-use digital solution designed to help construction companies and contractors to manage and reuse surplus materials across their projects. By cataloguing leftover materials onsite, LYS makes it possible for teams to share, match, and claim usable resources internally—reducing waste, cutting costs, and supporting sustainability targets. The platform enables real-time visibility of spare materials across live and upcoming sites, helping procurement and commercial teams optimise what’s already available before buying new. It also integrates with leading tools like PowerBI and others to provide accurate carbon saving insights, giving businesses a measurable view of their environmental impact. With built-in ESG reporting, user-friendly search and claim features, and AI-driven reuse suggestions, Loop Your Spare turns what was once waste into opportunity—making circularity both practical and profitable.

At Loop Your Spare, we're on a mission to make the construction industry more sustainable — one spare material at a time. Construction is responsible for some of the highest carbon emissions globally, and we believe that tackling waste is one of the most immediate and impactful ways to change that.

We're developing a platform that helps construction companies track, share, and reuse surplus materials — reducing landfill, cutting carbon, and building a truly circular economy in the sector. But we can't do it alone.

We're looking for passionate volunteers who want to be part of this journey. Whether you're a front-end developer, a curious tester, or someone with skills in marketing and communications, there's a place for you in our mission. You’ll be helping shape a product that’s in pilot stage with major industry players — and your input can directly influence how we grow and what impact we make.

Role (Volunteer): Frontend Developer.

Role Description: What You’ll Do:

• Contribute to the development of the Loop Your Spare web app using modern frameworks (e.g., React or similar)
• Help design and implement user-friendly interfaces for contractors, suppliers, and sustainability teams
• Collaborate with our CTO and small product team to test new features and improve user experience
• Support responsive design, accessibility, and performance best practices
• Provide input on how we can improve usability and impact

What We're Looking For:

• Experience with React and ideally Next.js
• Experience with TypeScript
• Experience with HTML and CSS
• Experience in responsive design and development.
• Familiarity with version control (Git)
• Passion for sustainability, circular economy, or making a real-world difference through tech
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to a mission-led startup
• Bonus: Experience in mobile application development

Time Commitment: Volunteer 2-3 hours per week for a one-off project remotely
