We’re seeking a strategic and results-driven Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Team Leader to oversee the development and daily operations of our production scheduling and material planning team. Basic Function

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with teams across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and New Product Development to ensure efficient production output, optimize resources, and meet both internal and external demand.

You will be responsible for driving both short- and long-term business objectives and will own all aspects of materials management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead performance and development of 8 direct reports
  • Analyse production schedules for short- and medium-term planning.
  • Maintain detailed production schedules, adjusting as needed.
  • Deliver material availability whilst maintaining inventory control
  • Resolve availability, scheduling and production challenges, ensuring smooth operations
  • Point of escalation for planning and materials teams, driving forward key issues with internal stakeholders.
  • Inventory Management
  • Monitor KPIs, including output, efficiency, and delivery
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
  • Contribute to ERP systems and planning tools improvement.
  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive team culture and focus on health and safety.
  • Drive positive change with the team to continuously improve internal processes along with external supply of materials


Skills/Requirements

  • Experienced in production and material planning, inventory management and replenishment
  • A sound working knowledge of MRP systems, SAP PRD and Microsoft office (Power BI desirable)
  • Passion for planning, scheduling, and process improvement
  • Experience in team leadership or cross-functional coordination is a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of IBP desirable
  • Exemplary organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead & coach a team & review their performance against tasks required
  • Approachable and a strong sense of accuracy is essential
  • Self-motivated and proactive and able to work on your own initiative without close supervision
  • Project/Change management experience desirable
