Our client, a long-established and respected multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy, is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Colchester. With over 100 years of operation, they employ over 200 professionals across regional offices throughout the UK. They offer integrated services in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Architecture, M&E Design, Project Management and Health & Safety across key sectors including residential, defence, commercial, healthcare, education, and blue-light.

Graduate Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 DOE
- 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with festive shutdown and increasing entitlement with service

- Prepare outline cost plans and budgets tailored to client needs
- Produce preliminaries and contract documents for tendering
- Support senior surveyors on pre- and post-contract duties
- Assist in tender analysis, contractor appointments and cost reporting
- Attend project meetings and assist with valuations and cost control
- Monitor progress, inspect works, and support contractor payments
- Work across a diverse range of public and private sector clients
- Help control expenditure and ensure projects meet time and cost targets
- Assist with final account agreements and specialist contractor supervision
- Record project time and promote the practice for future commissions
- Degree in Quantity Surveying with 1 - 3 years' experience (including placements)
- Enthusiasm to work toward MRICS status (APC support provided)
- Understanding of traditional and modern construction techniques
- Knowledge of Building Regulations and related legislation
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Based within commuting distance of Colchester (or willing to relocate)
