Within our Mechanical & Engineering division, the plumbing team plays a crucial role in the day-to-day delivery of all aspects of installation and maintenance for plumbing and pipework systems, typically within commercial, industrial and secure locations on client-side working sites.

Position:

As part of our continued growth, our M&E division are looking to appoint an experienced and professional Plumber Pipefitter to use their working knowledge of water systems to complete a range of project works - predominantly focusing on inspection, repair, maintenance and installation within commercial settings for a range of clients, each with different needs and challenges.

Further responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support the M&E division to deliver a varied portfolio of works
  • Plumbing & pipe work installation, testing & commissioning
  • Work in accordance with method statements and safe systems of work
  • Review & update point of works risk assessments
  • Compliance with H&S and Environmental standards and policies
  • Compliance with company’s IMS system, policies and procedures
  • Respond to call outs as dictated by customers and project management teams
  • Site safety audits and tool box talks
  • Preparation of bill of materials, raising materials requisitions and management of site materials
  • Assist estimating teams with the preparation of sale estimates

Requirements:

To be considered for the role, you will need to hold all of the following:

  • 3-5 years’ experience domestic/commercial/industrial plumbing & pipework fitting and heating engineering.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Pipework
  • G3 Unvented Competent Person Certificate
  • WRAS -Water Industry Approved Plumbers' Scheme (WIAPS)
  • CSCS Card Holder
  • Full UK driving license

Key experience needed:

  • Proven track record of commercial plumbing, pipework and heating engineering
  • Interpretation of drawings, schedules and specifications
  • Testing, inspection and problem resolution

Useful Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read and clearly understand drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work with a degree of autonomy and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations
  • Understanding of current standards and regulations
  • Basic report writing
  • Support project teams in the preparation of schedules and quotations
  • Collaboration with clients, sub-contractors and other trades
