This is a unique opportunity for an individual to join the senior leadership team within the Medicine Division at NHS Tayside.
As Lead Nurse for Unscheduled Medicine, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, championing excellence, and leading transformational change across the Clinical Care Group and wider corporate services. You’ll be at the forefront of delivering safe, effective, and person-centred careensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

Frequent travel across Tayside and occasional nationally is required. This role has a remit that is Tayside wide.
Hours of work are: 37 hours per week, and you will be required to undertake weekend working as a Professional Lead at Ninewells Hospital and/or Perth Royal Infirmary and participate in the Duty Manager on call rota.
We are a flexible employer and committed to discussing differing working arrangements as required. The role includes weekend working as a Professional Lead and participation in the Duty Manager on-call rota at Ninewells Hospital and/or Perth Royal Infirmary.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and inspire the nursing workforce across unscheduled care services
- Drive forward service transformation and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams across Tayside
- Ensure robust professional governance and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice
- Influence strategic direction and contribute to system-wide innovation
- A UK NMC Registered Nurse with significant post-registration experience in unscheduled care
- Proven leadership and operational management at a senior level
- Expertise in service redesign, workforce development, and care governance
- Educated to degree level with postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience (Master’s level or equivalent)
- A strategic thinker with a passion for person-centred care and continuous improvement
