We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to take on a leading role within our Magento 2 development team. You’ll be a key figure in shaping the architecture, ensuring high performance across multiple websites, and guiding a skilled team of engineers. What You’ll Do

  • Lead the Magento 2 engineering team across multiple web stores and application instances in a high-volume e-commerce environment.
  • Set and maintain technical standards, conduct architectural reviews, and ensure best practices across the codebase.
  • Drive performance improvements across frontend and backend with a focus on scalability, speed, and resilience.
  • Support the delivery of business-critical features while maintaining high-quality code and system stability.
  • Collaborate with other technical leads, Product Owner, QA, and DevOps to plan and deliver roadmap initiatives.
  • Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines and testing practices to support continuous delivery.
  • Provide line management, coaching, and technical mentorship to a team of Magento developers.
  • Own and drive resolution of platform-level issues (performance, technical debt, refactoring, upgrades, etc.).
  • Optionally facilitate Scrum ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to improving delivery processes.
  • Engage in regular code reviews, architecture sessions, and technical decision-making.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations of developers under your leadership.

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Magento 2 Open Source, including deep architectural and custom module development knowledge.
  • Strong Hyvä theme experience and in-depth understanding of performance optimisation in headless and non-headless contexts.
  • Proven track record of resolving performance issues using profilers such as Blackfire, New Relic.
  • Solid experience in leading engineering teams – setting technical direction, conducting code reviews, mentoring, and line management.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Unit testing and CI/CD pipelines as part of the daily workflow.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and strong expertise in RabbitMQ.
  • Experience using Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js within Magento projects.
  • Knowledge of Magento 2 best practices, including use of service contracts, dependency injection, and declarative schema.
  • A strong engineering mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and an interest in scalable architecture and clean code.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Magento 2 certification (nice to have).
  • Experience with Adobe Commerce (nice to have).
  • Experience acting as a Scrum Master (nice to have).
