We are recruiting a Buyer at our office in Skipton and you will need to be able to be in the office for 3 days a week. This role will require you to co-ordinate procurement related activities for specific projects allocated to you, as the project Buyer.

Some Responsibilities Will Include

• Support project teams throughout the design and optioneering stages with product/trade knowledge and procurement process understanding
• Coordinate early supplier involvement with the project teams
• Liaising with the site teams to ensure requirements are understood, key supply side factors are considered [lead times] and requirements delivered on time
• Managing day to day supplier performance and highlighting issues or opportunities to improve
• Proactively supporting & resolving delivery, quality, or invoice issues with suppliers
• Prepare reports, including cost analysis & forecasting
• Contribute to the implementation of frameworks and SLA’s
  
  

As a Buyer, you will be working as part of the Procurement team that manages a diverse spend portfolio of circa £95m per annum and therefore will have the opportunity to gain experience over a broad range of procurement specialisms. You will be a multi-discipline buyer that is able to procure materials, subcontract packages of work and external hired plant framework agreements. Ideally you will have previous experience as a buyer for civil engineering projects.

You will be based at our office in Skipton but we do offer hybrid working arrangement.
