Purpose and Scope:

Reporting to the Senior Construction Manager the Construction Supervisor is responsible for supervising and assisting of project delivery on assigned projects from inception to completion. The Construction Supervisor is responsible for the organization, direction, supervision and coordination of all construction site activities, delivery teams and relevant areas of the supply chain to drive the safe, compliant and timely completion of projects within budget and to specifications.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for work procedures, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels, monitoring and implementation of safety programs and project conformance to all relevant codes and standards. Act as a representative on assigned projects, discharging the companies’ duties in accordance with the Construction Design and Management Regulations. Responsible for the daily management and effective operation of the Construction / Site office.

Provide leadership and direction to assigned construction teams, ensuring timely setting of objectives, performance reviews and development of succession and development plans. Provide leadership on site to ensure the highest standards in environment, safety, health, environmental, security and quality performance are implemented and achieved.

Proactively review, monitor, audit and inspect site performance. Identify and implement continuous improvements to eliminate or reduce risks arising during the construction phase of a project.

Responsible for the supervision, coordination, deconfliction, day-to-day direction and delivery of all site activities ensuring safe, timely and efficient execution of work activities. Manage the availability, utilization and allocation of assigned team resources ensuring adequate resource levels are maintained throughout the project. To proactively manage all delivery teams and suppliers performance to ensure adherence with contractual agreements, technical, quality and safety standards.

Collaboratively liaise with Clients, external bodies and other third parties to ensure all work is planned, approved and coordinated. Ensure construction teams and all contractors are appropriately organised and that all personnel are demonstrably competent to undertake their roles. Ensure relevant documentation is submitted, approved, and adhered to for all site activities.

Ensure all commercial, contractual, health, safety and quality documentation are collated and recorded as the project progresses. Provide weekly and monthly performance and progress reports as and when requested by the Senior Construction Manager. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Must possess good planning/organising skills and good verbal communication.
  • Must have a can-do attitude, be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Must be able to lead with authority and manage conflict.
  • Must enforce Amentum site safety standards.
  • Constant mental alertness to ensure attention to detail.
  • Constant use of sight abilities whilst inspecting sites and reviewing documents.
  • Oversight of QC graded materials and ensuring standards are aligned to project requirements.
  • Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Outdoor environment, walking on uneven ground, accessing areas at height.
  • Must be able to use required personal protective equipment.
  • Position may require travel.
