What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Electronics Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for building, inspecting and testing QTS system equipment, predominantly based on site in Ashford, but with occasional travel across the globe, to customer sites.

You’ll perform troubleshooting at system, assembly and component level, to rectify faults and to highlight build and test improvements and provide technical support to all functions of the business.

Duties Will Include

  • Conduct build and test duties in line with the Production plan to ensure that product is completed on time, on cost and to quality.
  • Carry out repair, test and calibration duties on returned customer equipment internally on site, in line with the Production plan.
  • Carry out test and calibration duties on customer equipment externally on customer sites, in line with the customer requirements.
  • Support planning activities for external test and calibration visits, with internal stakeholders.
  • Recommend build, SOP’s, test and inspection documentation improvements, and provide justification
  • Create documentation to support and build ST fixtures to support Production and Production Engineering
  • An SME point of contact for internal and external customers on technical support
  • To carry out additional tasks as directed by Electronics Production Supervisor.

What do I need?

You will be HNC/ D qualified, or equivalent, in the Electrical / Electronic Engineering field and as a minimum have hands on experience of using digital voltmeter, signal generator, spectrum analyser and an oscilloscope.

You’ll have a customer focused attitude and have the ability to communicate effectively to internal and external customers.

  • Working knowledge of analogue and digital electronics
  • Knowledge of RF
  • The ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
  • The ability to remain flexible to meet customer demand
  • Experience of troubleshooting at system, assembly and component level
  • Understanding of safe working practices in a factory environment, and the ability to dynamic risk assess while off site to ensure safety
  • Experience with continuous improvement techniques, such as Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
