Job Overview

The Digital Nursing team are offering a 12 month secondment, for an experienced Clinical Digital person looking to develop further in their role. This role leads on new ways of working using digital and informatics technologies. Transforming care delivery and developing the use of Clinical Informatics. This is open to senior nurses, midwives or AHPs who are currently working in a digital role.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide sound clinical advice and guidance, working collaboratively with the Chief Nursing Information Officer, Digital Midwife & Digital Nurse, Chief Clinical Information Officer, Chief Digital Information Officer; Nursing, Midwifery and AHP leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure the appropriate, consistent, and successful use of integrated knowledge and information systems. They will also promote innovation and champion the development of a clinically appropriate information culture, as an enabler of change and quality improvement across the organisation. They will need change management experience as well as significant clinical and digital experience.

The post holder will be instrumental in optimisation of the existing EPR and in supporting the development and implementation of the forthcoming BSW Shared EPR.

As Deputy CNIO, you will work closely with the CNIO to bring strategic and operational leadership to the digital clinical space. You will be responsible for ensuring the use of technologies reflect nursing, midwifery or AHP processes and support in the planning and delivery of digital systems across all areas of the Trust, enabling the collection and use of structured data.

Person specification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse with NMC registration
  • First degree in health-related subject
  • MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice or Digital Health (or working towards)
  • Evidence of continued personal and professional development

Desirable criteria

  • A leadership course.
  • Coaching/mentoring experience.
  • Project management qualification (Prince etc.)
  • Clinical Informatics qualification/study

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working at a senior level in a digital role
  • Extensive proven track record for delivering key initiatives
  • Extensive experience of working as a Senior Nurse/Midwife/AHP in a complex environment leading large and or diverse teams
  • Experience of managing change

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of leading or working with a range of healthcare professionals, including non-clinical staff
  • Experience with the design and implementation of clinical IT systems

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
