As a Personal Assistant supporting the HR Director at Travis Perkins plc, you’ll play a key role in managing confidential HR documentation, executive communications, reporting, and coordination of key activities. You’ll help ensure the smooth running of the HR Shared Services team by managing key information and interactions, while supporting operational and strategic work.

Location: This is a hybrid based role, with the need of travel to our Head Office based in Duston, Northampton 2 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage highly confidential documents including senior offer letters, reports, and internal presentations.
  • Support the HR Director with sensitive assignments involving people-related data, internal moves, or legal matters.
  • Conduct research and collate data to support decision-making and executive reporting.
  • Manage calendar and diary scheduling across internal and external stakeholders, balancing priorities and deadlines.
  • Process financial data using internal systems (e.g. Oracle) to support budget tracking and invoice management.
  • Support system administration tasks for senior-level HR moves or changes within the organisation.
  • Lead meeting preparations and follow-ups, including agendas and action tracking for department meetings.
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support across the wider HRSS team when needed, including tasks like Subject Access Requests.

This is a high-trust role that requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organisation, and emotional intelligence. You’ll be working across sensitive topics and collaborating closely with senior leaders across the business.

You’ll also have:

  • Experience working in a role that requires handling confidential information with integrity.
  • Excellent organisation, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience as a Personal Assistant is preferred but not essential.
  • The ability to prioritise multiple tasks, anticipate challenges, and maintain discretion at all times.
  • Preferred previous experience in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar), Adobe, and Oracle systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, adaptable to different stakeholders and levels.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
