What You'll Do:


As the Stock and Logistics Controller, you will play a pivotal role in the procurement and logistics of products. Your expertise will ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Here's a snapshot of your key responsibilities:

  • Sourcing & Procurement: Engage in sourcing activities, analysing forward orders and customer contracts to facilitate cost-effective purchasing while meeting customer demand.
  • Collaboration: Liaise closely with operations teams to ensure timely receipt of goods and maintain a detailed log of all shipments and costings for commercial and operational teams.
  • Customs/Brexit related Documentation Oversight: Provide meticulous attention to detail in checking import documentation and contractual clauses, while keeping track of invoices for timely settlement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on legislative changes in shipping controls and manage tariffs and duties in collaboration with central services.
  • Import Management: Daily responsibility for all imports into the site, ensuring correct on-costs are applied before receipting, and manage the completion of customs declaration forms.
  • Process Improvement: Review and identify areas for change in logistics management, adopting plans for continuous improvement to enhance best practises across the UK&I business.
  • Point of Contact: Serve as a key contact within the organisation for best practise approaches to import legislation and procedural compliance.

What We're Looking For:


To succeed in this role, you'll need to bring a mix of skills and experience that include:

  • Strong Relationship Management: Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to foster relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the shipping and freight forwarding industry, along with extensive experience in import/export handling and customs documentation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with SAP is essential, alongside a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
