Job Overview
We are seeking a bold and forward-thinking Director of Marketing, Admissions and Communications to join the Senior Management Team. This is a pivotal role in shaping the school’s future, driving pupil recruitment, and elevating our brand with vision, creativity and strategic insight.
This is not a traditional marketing role. We are looking for someone with a disruptive mindset—someone who challenges convention, avoids “me-too” marketing, and brings a dynamic approach to how we present the school, engage our audiences, and grow our community. In collaboration with the Headmaster and the leadership team, this role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction of Dunottar.

- Developing and implementing a strategy across marketing, admissions, communications and events, which contributes to the continued growth of the School.
- Leading the creation of visionary campaigns and content that reflect the School’s distinctive identity, values and ambitions.
- Shaping and executing admissions strategies that respond to the competitive landscape and speak directly to prospective families.
- Using insight and analysis to inform decision-making and refine approaches.
- Acting as a key contributor to the school’s strategic leadership as part of the SMT.

- Overseeing the end-to-end admissions process, ensuring an exceptional and personalised experience for prospective families which reflects the ethos of the school.
- Creating and commissioning bold, differentiated marketing strategies—both digital and print.
- Leading a compelling and consistent communications strategy, both internally and externally.
- Overseeing events that reflect the energy and ambition of the school.
- Overseeing the use of social media and digital platforms including AI, in smart, engaging and authentic ways to connect with key audiences.
