We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Work Placement Coordinator to join our service industries sector supporting areas such as Catering and Hospitality, Hair, Beauty, and Media Make-up. In this pivotal role, you will support students in securing purposeful, high-quality placements that align with learning objectives and industry standards. You will work collaboratively with students, curriculum teams, and employers to ensure all placements align with learning objectives and meet industry standards. Additionally, the role involves actively promoting Middlesbrough College Group, generating placement opportunities in line with agreed targets, and building new partnerships with employers.


What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Work Placement Coordinator, you will:

  • Maintain, review, develop, and expand work placement opportunities across a range of courses within the department, including T Levels.
  • Support, monitor, and record students’ progress in their workplace settings, ensuring SMART targets are reviewed and updated on the college’s systems.
  • Meet with students prior to placements to discuss their individual needs and expectations, as well as the college’s standards while on placement.
  • Facilitate interview and recruitment processes with employers, where required, to secure valuable work placement opportunities for students.
  • Maintain regular contact with employers and students to complete all necessary paperwork and conduct periodic progress reviews.

What We’re Looking For:

We seek candidates who:

  • Have knowledge and understanding of the further education curriculum, including T Levels (Desirable)

  • Hold a good general education to at least Level 3 or equivalent.

  • Have a Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).

  • Possess an IOSH (Managing Safely) qualification or be willing to work towards obtaining one.

  • Hold an assessor qualification or be prepared to complete the necessary training.

  • Demonstrate strong IT skills relevant to the requirements of the role.
