Overview
Our client, a public law enforcement body, is seeking a Commercial and Procurement Lead to join its newly established Procurement Team. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead on a variety of complex strategic procurement projects, contributing to the delivery of essential policing services while ensuring commercial effectiveness and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement activities for a wide range of contracts, ensuring compliance with Public Contract Regulations and the Procurement Act 2023.
- Develop and manage complex tendering exercises with a focus on value for money and operational effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to co-develop commercially viable procurement and contracting solutions.
- Provide guidance on procurement documentation and ensure meticulous attention to detail in authoring and reviewing submissions.
- Act as a strategic advisor within the team, contributing to service delivery improvements and procurement best practice.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a recognised procurement qualification (e.g., MCIPS) or working towards qualification (development route available at entry grade M2).
- Demonstrated understanding of public procurement law and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing complex procurement projects, ideally within IT or public sector environments.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Line management experience or potential to supervise others would be advantageous.
Additional Information
- Full-time role (37 hours/week), with flexibility for part-time hours (minimum 30 hours/week) for suitable candidates.
