An opportunity has arisen, within the Radiology Department, for two part time Radiology Support Workers to work alongside our Radiographers and Sonographers within the Radiology Department at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

These positions will provide an exciting challenge for dynamic and empathetic team players, with excellent communication skills and enthusiasm, who enjoy working within a hospital environment.

The successful candidates will work as an integral part of the Radiology team, working in the X-ray Department, Ultrasound Department, and Centenary Radiology Departments at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

The main responsibilities will include receiving our patients into the department on our reception desks, accurately entering patient and examination data in to the Radiology IT system, answering the telephone, responding to queries from patients, GPs and staff and general patient care.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but training can be given.

There are two posts which will be worked in our X-ray departments on Receptions and the clinical areas with our Radiographers and Sonographers. Please see attached rotas for details.

Post one: 30.25 hours per week - These hours will be worked as 7.5 hour days over Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Post two: 15.75 hours per week - These hours will be worked over three days, Saturdays, Sundays, and Thursdays.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
