We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is any five days out of seven.

We are seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our acute medical team in the RAH. Working closely with Physiotherapy colleagues and the wider MDT, the acute medical team covers 7 wards within the RAH. The clinical focus is on timely patient centred assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning, to support site flow and ensuring no patients remains in hospital longer than necessary.

As a band 6, key responsibilities will be, the formal and informal support and supervision of rotational Occupational Therapy staff, HCSW’s and students along with participation in personal and service development. You will be supervised by a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist along with daily support available from a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Associate Chief AHP. Peer supervision is also established within the service. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working in acute medical specialities, interested in networking across sectors and a team player with good communication skills.

It is essential you have a Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy with current registration with the HCPC and evidence of relevant post graduate courses/ CPD. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland check.
