About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior HR Advisor to join the Bank Member Human Resources Team at NHS Professionals Limited. This is a key position providing high-level HR support and guidance across our organisation, with a particular focus on our flexible workforce.

Reporting directly to the HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a proactive, expert, and customer-focused HR service to internal teams and external stakeholders, including NHS Trust partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational HR advice to managers on complex employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, and performance management, with a focus on flexible workers.
  • Lead on the analysis and resolution of complex casework, assessing risk and recommending effective solutions in line with legislation, policy, and best practice.
  • Represent HR as a senior panel member in formal hearings, ensuring procedural compliance, taking accurate minutes, and preparing supporting documentation and correspondence.
  • Support the HR Manager in driving consistency in HR practice and policy application across the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Trust partners and internal stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact for HR-related matters.
  • Contribute to HR policy development and the implementation of workforce initiatives that enhance the management of flexible workers.
  • Mentor and support junior HR team members as needed.


About You

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who is confident in their expertise and ready to take ownership of high-level casework and advisory responsibilities. You will have:

  • Proven experience in a senior HR advisory role, ideally within the NHS, healthcare, or public sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels.
  • A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience handling sensitive and complex employee relations matters from start to resolution.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience); Level 7 desirable.
