The Senior Associate Controls Engineer performs developed system maintenance and support. Effectively interacts with other internal and external teams, including the design engineering, site engineering, regional operations teams, onsite support vendors and consultants on projects, policies and procedures within a moderate scope.

Job Summary
The Senior Associate Controls Engineer performs developed system maintenance and support. Effectively interacts with other internal and external teams, including the design engineering, site engineering, regional operations teams, onsite support vendors and consultants on projects, policies and procedures within a moderate scope.
Responsibilities
System Operation and Work Practices
- Performs maintenance and repairs on control systems, and develops SOWs for complex control system maintenance and replacement projects within a moderate scope.
- Ability to apply knowledge of Equinix process and procedure to resolve moderate issues.
- Utilizes safe working practices at an expert level (e.g. can apply procedure for lockout/tagout, can explain MSDS, etc.).
- Evaluates and assures the safe working practices of others.
- Identifies and understands underlying issues; differentiates key elements from the irrelevant or trivial.
- Can identify and correct component level faults.
- Interacts with and may provide direction to internal and external project teams
- Assists in directing teams s per project or initiative such as General Contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc.
- Internal and external written and verbal communication to include detailed analysis and reports
- Utilizes developed understanding of typical electrical, fire protection, and HVAC system operation.
- Knowledge of control systems to diagnose and repair advanced technical difficulties.
- Acquires knowledge by expanding experience with systems, vendor training and shadowing others.
- Provides feedback on training programs.
- Experience in Controls Field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – especially Excel.
- Knowledge of Networks (CAT5/6(a) and topologies).
- Server and SQL Experience Advantageous.
