Service areas: Blackpool & North Preston

As a field-based Pest Control Technician / Control Specialist you will be responsible for maintaining client buildings, premises and surrounding areas free of infestation. Ensuring delivery of our services to customer sites in a timely, efficient and courteous manner. As an ambassador of the business, excellent customer service skills are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Our Pest control officers carry out inspections to dwellings, commercial properties in and Northwest to monitor and treat infestations
  • Provide effective and safe treatments for any pests found during routine inspections or reactive works
  • Liaise and feedback relevant information to customer, clients with regards to affecting factors within their premises to assist in the eradication of pests
  • Practice the safe application of pesticides in accordance with legislation
  • Communicate and report on a regular basis to supervisor level on treatments and problems found along with recommendations
  • Provide written accounts of treatments carried out in dwellings, commercial premises in the correct manner
  • Carry out treatments outside normal working hours if required also to include weekend work and to attend meetings if requested outside normal working hours
  • To be available to be on emergency call out rota as required
  • Assess potential problems with infestations and assist in making recommendations for repairs or structure at the planning stage to overcome likely future infestations or their spread from one dwelling to another.
  • Carry out technician routine inspections, emergency call out visits along with job work to Commercial and residential clients.

  • Adhere to all H&S requirements, always including manual handling of goods, monitor working hours to ensure compliance with Working Time Directives (WTD) and Driving Time Directives (DTD)

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
  • Ability to organise and plan their own workload
  • This is a standalone role where you will be required to work independently.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills
  • An ability to remain professional and diplomatic whilst dealing with customers.
  • BPCA/RSPH Level II minimum or equivalent standard certification prefferd
  • Additional training will be provided, both in-house and external courses/certifications in relation to the position.
