As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will be at the heart of maintaining high standards of cleanliness across our hospital. From patient rooms and treatment areas to staff facilities, you’ll ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Duties:
Contract Type: Permanent
Shift Pattern: 32.50 to 37.50 hours Includes weekends (1 in 4) and Bank Holidays (2 per year)
Salary: from £23,809.50 onwards (experience dependent)
Please note that the salary shown on this advert is the full-time equivalent. Salary will be pro-rata in line with contracted part-time hours.

As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will be at the heart of maintaining high standards of cleanliness across our hospital. From patient rooms and treatment areas to staff facilities, you’ll ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Duties:
- Maintain Cleanliness: Perform all cleaning tasks to the highest standard across patient rooms, lounges, treatment areas, and public spaces.
- Waste Management: Safely dispose of clinical, household, and recycling waste.
- Linen Management: Restock clean linen supplies and manage soiled laundry.
- Infection Control: Follow Health & Safety and Infection Control guidelines to ensure a safe environment.
- Communication: Work closely with staff and occasionally interact with patients. Good communication skills are a must!
- Experienced in housekeeping, ideally in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Confident in working independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Customer-focused, friendly, and professional in every interaction.
- Organised, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Flexible, willing to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota.
