Description


As a dynamic and growing accountancy firm with over 1,000 employees, we are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our innovative and forward-thinking Accounts Advisory team, to support the Dains group.
You will be responsible for data processing from client core records into computerised software packages (Xero). Processing payments, invoices and VAT returns on a daily basis.
You will be professional and approachable with clients and staff alike and exercise diplomacy


Key Responsibilities


  • Data processing from client core records into computerised software packages (Xero).
  • Processing payments, invoices and VAT returns on a daily basis.
  • To demonstrate a basic knowledge of the workings of a bank account.
  • To actively participate in on-the-job training to develop accountancy and IT skills.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


  • Education: You hold or are working towards an AAT Level 3 or 4 qualification, which serves as a foundation for the technical expertise required in this role.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use/learn software and systems as appropriate. Knowledge of the system Xero is desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Your exceptional communication skills enable you to be professional and approachable with clients and staff alike and to exercise diplomacy.
  • Attention to Detail: You can work under pressure to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy.
  • Client Service: You demonstrate a high commitment to excellent client service and take ownership of your role.
  • Adaptability and Professionalism: You can adapt to changing business needs and able to respect authority. You are able to take on board feedback given by more senior staff and to use this for personal and professional development.
  • Industry Knowledge: You have a basic understanding of the accounting industry’s standards and best practices.
  • Commercial Acumen: You understands Dains services and refer possible opportunities to a more senior member of staff.
