We are looking to recruit a Distribution Planner & Operator in Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company committed to providing quality, innovative value, and logistics services. The person we are looking for must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on delivering high quality and performance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the route allocation of 30-40 multi drop vehicles, working closely with our 3rd party transport provider/s to plan and allocate deliveries and collections.
You will meet customers' requirements for the safe and efficient transportation of cargo in accordance with company operational procedures and statutory requirements including Health & Safety, DGSA Regulations to the satisfaction of clients and the profitability of the company. This is to be achieved in line with our “get it right first time” approach.

Key accountability areas
- An excellent understanding of Domestic HGV driving legislation and load capacities.
- Communicating efficiently and effectively with internal and external Customers, Drivers, Suppliers, and other DSV Hubs.
- Any reports/KPI's required.
- Producing a Month end financial and service result.
- Work with warehouse and other internal colleagues to provide the best service possible.
- Liaise with and maintain an excellent working relationship with inhouse 3rd party transport provider.
- Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Previous experience as a planner with multi drop experience
- Excellent Geographical knowledge of the area
- Excellent Knowledge of Weights and capacities of HGV’s
- Excellent Communicator
- Excellent Customer Service
- Knowledge of Driver’s Hours and Transport Regulations
- Ability to multi-task under pressure
- Good problem solver
- Experience of working with department KPI’s i.e. CPVD (Cons per vehicle day)
