We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering and Technology to drive transformative advancements in repair, refurbishment, product lifecycle extension, and distribution management. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring products continue to perform optimally long after they've left the production floor, extending their lifecycle and maximizing their value to our customers. What You'll Do
- Strategic Visionary & Influencer: Craft a compelling vision of the future, rallying stakeholder enthusiasm to transform operational processes by blending site-specific insights, customer feedback, and pioneering advancements. You'll engage global and regional leaders to create a shared vision that encompasses strategic direction and necessary cultural shifts, leading large-scale change initiatives. You'll leverage persuasive communication and deep understanding of organizational dynamics to overcome resistance and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Manufacturing & Aftermarket Excellence: Drive transformative advancements in repair, refurbishment, product lifecycle extension, and distribution management. You'll work to develop and deploy robust technologies that streamline aftermarket processes, ensuring repair and refurbishment operations are efficient, responsive, and scalable. You'll be at the forefront of crafting solutions that enhance product longevity and reliability, using data-driven insights and cutting-edge tools.
- Pioneering Innovation: Ignite and guide scalable technology deployments, overseeing the entire lifecycle from ideation through deployment and thoughtful retirement. You'll continuously fuel innovation by fostering partnerships with disruptive technologies, universities, and industry leaders.
- People-Centric Leadership: Lead with a charismatic touch, building alignment among cross-functional teams and stakeholders to foster swift decision-making and implementation of strategic initiatives. You'll evaluate potential, drive succession planning, and ensure your employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential. This role will initially have 1 direct report, with the potential to grow to 5-10 over time.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Proven ability to effectively engage and influence diverse stakeholders to get their support and investment.
- Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated capacity to create a compelling future vision and instill this in stakeholders to gain their buy-in and drive large-scale change initiatives.
- Strong Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing principles and processes, with the ability to understand how products are built and identify areas for optimization.
- Sustaining/Aftermarket Services Experience: Direct experience with sustaining engineering or aftermarket services, recognizing their distinct value proposition and operational considerations.
- Exceptional People Leadership: A strong track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering talent, fostering a collaborative and high-achieving team environment.
- European Economic Area Based: Residing within the European Economic Area, with a willingness for global travel and influence as required.
- Ability to manage and lead effectively through ambiguity in services and manufacturing.
- Strong self-direction, with the capability to craft insightful responses and build comprehensive action plans independently.
- Previous experience in EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) or electronics manufacturing.
- Understanding of manual assembly processes, assembly techniques, and related manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software and its integration, as well as automation experience.
