We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated person to join our very friendly team delivering high quality healthcare at our busy surgery of 25,000 patients, in the centre of Hove. We are situated in a purpose built, award winning conversion from a church to a modern health centre The successful candidate will have completed the Care Certificate; training can be given for the duties listed below but experience is preferred. You must be reliable and personable and work well within a team with demonstrable organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload. Working under the direct supervision of the Lead Practice Nurse and strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities: Duties Dressings new and ongoing Compression Phlebotomy NHS Health Checks Simple injection (B12 / flu / pneumo) ECG's Suture removal BP review Ear Syringing Assisting with Contraceptive Implant Removals Chaperoning duties Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Clearing, preparing and re-stocking consulting rooms Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being Spirometry . Home Visits We are recruiting for up to 37.5 hours per week, typically worked Monday to Friday but for less hours the ability to offer flexibility and cover for sickness and holidays is essential
