Contract type: Full time

Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Digital Engagement team as our Digital Marketing Producer. This is a permanent, hybrid, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, based between home and our offices in Selly Oak, Birmingham.

The successful candidate will be creating content that works. Maybe it’s drafting a high-performing email that brings in donations. Or translating dense technical information about disabilities into an intuitive series of website pages. Or working with someone we support to craft a blog that really addresses key disability issues. You get to decide what works best, for which audience, on which channel. You’ll be a champion for the needs of the audience so you need to know how to use insight, data and analytics to help inform the content you make. And you’ll be adept at keeping a close eye on results, confident about testing different approaches to develop best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and build first-class emails that get results and resonate with our audience using your knowledge of best practice.
  • Write, edit and manage accurate, accessible and informative content, including blogs, information pages and landing pages describing our services, working with the people we support and subject matter experts to make sure content is accurate.
  • Create text, photo or video-based social media posts, as appropriate
  • Provide cover for the digital team (e.g. when they are on leave), where necessary taking on their responsibilities and liaising with colleagues and contacts on outstanding work.
  • A commitment to Sense’s vision and values; a willingness to learn how to communicate with people with complex disabilities
  • Work with the communications team to ensure that the digital asset library system is maintained, with material uploaded and referenced correctly

Key skills and experience

  • Creating, iterating and managing audience focused content
  • Writing for the web and email, with proven ability of creating content that is accessible and usable
  • Experience using analytics, user feedback, user research and other sources of information to improve content
  • Content creation experience across a number of formats for social media
  • Project management capability, including the ability to coordinate a number of projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent written English: ability to write and edit sharp, accessible, and concise copy for advertising, blogs, web, emails, social and more
  • User focus – you can identify and engage with users and stakeholders to collate quantitative and qualitative evidence and identify user needs. You can translate user stories and propose design approaches or services to meet these needs.
  • Stakeholder relationship management – You can identify key stakeholders, tailoring communication to their needs, and build relationships. You understand how to work with stakeholders and contribute to improving these relationships, using evidence to explain decisions made.
