Role Profile – Performance Marketing Manager

Role Purpose

This is a high-impact role, critical to delivering Oak Furnitureland’s ambitious growth plans. As part of the Media team, the Performance Marketing Manager is responsible for effectively attracting and converting customers through paid digital channels, driving performance that supports the website and showrooms. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on accountability, enjoys delivering commercial results, and is passionate about developing both people and channel performance.

Reporting to the Head of Media, you’ll take ownership of a significant digital investment, working closely with our digital agency, media partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver performance. You’ll be responsible for shaping our approach to Paid Search, Online Video, Paid Social and affiliate programme, leading performance across these channels with pace, precision and creativity. This is a role with real visibility and impact—perfect for someone who’s motivated by making a difference in a fast-paced retail environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimise performance across Paid Search (our most critical digital acquisition channel), ensuring activity is insight-driven, commercially focused and continuously evolving. Oversee the growth of YouTube, working closely with the Advertising Manager to ensure alignment with the wider TV strategy.
  • Develop and deliver a robust annual channel strategy in partnership with our agency, aligned to business and media objectives.
  • Continuously monitor and optimise channel performance, identifying risks early and driving rapid response to opportunities.
  • Own the day-to-day relationship with our Digital Marketing agency and third-party media partners, ensuring delivery to scope and maximising value.
  • Responsible for the regular reporting of performance of all channels against relevant benchmarks, highlighting successes as well as communicating optimisations taking place to improve performance where relevant.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify and test opportunities that enhance performance throughout the customer journey—using insight, first-party data and automation to improve efficiency and relevance. Champion the evolution of our measurement capabilities, ensuring performance is tracked as accurately as possible and supports smarter decision-making across digital channels.
  • Drive innovation in digital media by proactively identifying new tools, tactics or formats that can improve performance or efficiency, bringing recommendations to stakeholders and leading test-and-learn pilots where relevant.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Performance Marketing Executive—setting clear priorities, supporting professional development and fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading high-performing paid media campaigns, with deep expertise in Paid Search and hands-on experience in YouTube and Paid Social, ideally including campaign planning, execution and evaluation.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a data-driven approach to performance, optimisation, and reporting.
  • Demonstrable success managing large-scale digital media budgets and making evidence-based investment decisions.
  • A confident and proactive communicator who brings energy to meetings, encourages collaboration, and contributes positively to team culture.
  • Experienced in leading and developing others—able to coach, support and challenge team members to deliver their best work.
  • Skilled in agency management—able to set clear expectations, challenge constructively, and hold partners to account.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile retail environment—able to juggle multiple priorities and drive outcomes at pace.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and staying on top of industry trends to ensure we remain competitive and innovative.
  • Familiar with key platforms such as Google Ads, SA360, DV360 and Google Analytics.
